Kaléidoscope

Constructed like a kaleidoscope, each segment of straw is organised around a central point to form rosette-like patterns that shift with the light. Alternating tones create successive symmetries, echoing the optical instrument from which the work takes its name.

Its intimate scale draws attention to the precision of the assembly: the closer the viewer comes, the more fully the material reveals itself.
