Workshops

Passing down the craft ensures that straw marquetry remains a living art. The studio opens its doors several times a year to small groups — six people maximum — to share a discipline that requires, above all, time and focus.

  • Workshops take place at Atelier Mayati in Verlus (Gers) and at Ateliers Hybride in Pau (Pyrénées-Atlantiques).
  • All materials and tools are provided.
  • Step-by-step guidance.
  • You leave with your own finished piece.
  • Workshops are conducted in French.

Formats

  • Discovery Workshop

    3 hours All levels 75 €

    Learn straw marquetry in half a day. Preparing, splitting, and applying the strands — each participant leaves with a small object crafted and completed on-site. No prerequisites required.

  • Marquetry Course

    2 to 4 days All levels 100 € per day

    In-depth training in straw marquetry over two, three or four days. Straw preparation, geometric patterns, studio finishes — an opportunity to tackle more complex techniques and leave with an advanced, polished piece.

  • Custom Training

    Upon request All levels

    A tailored program adapted to a specific project — commissioned piece, collaboration, or personal research. Schedule and content are defined together through prior consultation.
